A Civil Guard patrol boat has rescued a person who fell into the sea while paragliding in Playa Quemada, in the Lanzarote municipality of Yaiza. The affected person suffered a trauma to one leg, although the assessment of his injuries by the Canary Emergency Service (SUC) is pending.
The injured person has been transferred in a basic life support ambulance from the SUC of Puerto Calero to the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital after being rescued from the water. At 5:00 p.m. the Emergency Coordinating Center (Cecoes) 112 received an alert reporting that a man had fallen into the sea with a paraglider. 112 immediately activated the necessary emergency resources.
In addition to the Civil Guard and the medical personnel of the SUC, the helicopter of the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES), Civil Protection, Local Police and Maritime Rescue participated in the rescue efforts.
