A 39-year-old woman was injured with severe multiple injuries after colliding with another vehicle and overturning her car on the LZ 40 near Rancho Texas. She had to be transferred first to the José Molina Orosa Hospital, in Arrecife, and later, by medical helicopter to the Doctor Negrín Hospital in Gran Canaria.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 40-year-old man, suffered mild abdominal trauma and was transferred to the José Molina Orosa Hospital.

Around 11:40 p.m. this Monday, December 31, an alert was received at the Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security (CECOES) of the Government of the Canary Islands, reporting the overturning of a vehicle on the LZ-40 highway, near Tías, with people trapped. The 1-1-2 immediately activates the necessary emergency resources. And a medicalized ambulance and a basic life support ambulance from the SUC, firefighters from the Security, Emergencies, Rescue, Prevention and Extinction of Fires Consortium of Lanzarote, Civil Protection personnel and agents of the Civil Guard are deployed to the scene.

The firefighters collaborated with the paramedics to free and assist the victims, a man and a woman with various injuries. The medical personnel of the SUC stabilized the woman and transferred her in serious condition to the Molina Orosa Hospital. Later, a referral to the Doctor Negrín Hospital of Gran Canaria was requested from this center, which was carried out by medical helicopter.

The other affected, the man, was transferred by a basic life support ambulance from the SUC to the island's Hospital.
