The municipality of Tías will celebrate the Patron Saint Festivals of Our Lady of Candelaria and San Blas from January 23 to February 3, 2026, with an extensive cultural, sports, religious, and popular program aimed at all audiences. This year's edition takes on special significance as it commemorates the 230th anniversary of the Parish of Candelaria in July, one of the municipality's main heritage symbols.

The inaugural opening speech, which will take place on Friday, January 23, will be given by Emilio Fernández Batista, and will also feature performances by Domingo Rodríguez “El Colorao” and Fabiola Socas, marking the official start of festivities that combine tradition, community participation, and contemporary offerings for all audiences.

The program includes more than 50 events with folklore gatherings, concerts, children's and youth activities, sports tournaments, parades, theater, dance, popular gastronomy, and outstanding events such as the XVII Tenderete Canario Candelaria, Noche de Parrandas, the popular race, traditional frying, the concert by the Navarrese group Puro Relajo, or the XXII Encuentro de Timples la Candelaria y San Blas.

The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, indicates that these festivities "represent the identity and living history of our town, while also reflecting the collective effort of associations, groups, the parish, municipal staff, and, especially, the festival committee, to whom I thank for their dedication and commitment".The Councilor for Festivals, Miriam Hernández, refers to the special care taken with the program, which seeks a balance between tradition and new proposals. "The involvement of groups and associations has been key to achieving inclusive, lively, and participatory festivals," she adds.
