Last Monday, the residents of Tías came to the square next to the church of San Antonio to be present at the inauguration of the Nativity scene. A work carried out by the neighbor Luis Acuña and his team who, with great imagination and skill, recreated the most emblematic places of the southern municipality.

At 7:00 p.m., the mayor, José Juan Cruz, addressed all those present, inviting them to enjoy it, wishing them happy holidays and the best wishes for the coming year. Then the parish priest of Tías, Adrián Sosa Nuez, blessed the Nativity scene.

The Guanapay Folklore Group of Teguise, complying with the program corresponding to the "Isleña Christmas", was placed next to the Portal and performed several Christmas carols, all of their own creation, collecting in their lyrics how Christmas is lived in the Villa de Teguise and in some of them with a touch of humor, such as the one referring to the arrival of the Three Wise Men through the towns of the municipality.

Christmas carols with Canarian airs where their lyrics were intertwined to the rhythm of seguidillas, isas and folías, titles such as Paper Christmas, The child is already in the Portal, The Tambourine and The Kings pass through Teguise etc.
