The municipal theater of Tías hosted last Saturday the 'XIX Encuentro de Timples' organized by Guágaro Asociación, an event framed in the extensive program of festivities in honor of Nuestra Señora de La Candelaria and San Blas.

This is an opportunity for students enrolled in the Municipal School of Music of the City Council of Tías led by Professor José Vicente Pérez, a seasoned man in charge of teaching all those who wish to deepen the handling of the also called 'Camellito Sonoro'. For this event, the teacher had the complicity of 6 advanced students who left the classroom to go on stage for the first time and face a challenge having as jury their relatives, friends and the general public. A test that they passed with flying colors, the approval of their teacher José Vicente Pérez and the public that gave them in each of their performances the most sonorous applause of the night.

The second part of the meeting was enlivened by the musician and timplista Benito Cabrera accompanied by his inseparable guitarist and great professional Tomás Fariña and featured the prestigious voices of Ángel Campos and Bosco González. They presented their show 'Verses for a town', a very novel show where the audience could discover some unknown facets of important poets and writers who have stood out in the literary world such as José Saramago, Mario Benedetti, Agustín Espinosa, Rafael Alberti, Víctor Fernández Gopar 'El Salinero', or Pedro García Cabrera among others. From all of them they extracted some passages to which the teacher Benito Cabrera and Tomás Fariña accompanied with their musical bands merging in the poetic part with the voice of Bosco González and that of Mario Campos in the singing. A show that captivated the audience that at all times did not stop applauding them, and as the good always knows little in the farewell and out of program performed two encores. 'Verse for a town', a project of Benito Cabrera where the simple becomes great.
