The San Ginés Festivities will enjoy their midpoint this Saturday with the celebration of "a great variety of events." This was reported by the Arrecife City Council in a statement.
The first of them will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the Cuatro Esquinas from where a parade will depart, starring the Arrecife folk groups, Acorán de Los Realejos and Nambroque de La Palma, who will go along Calle Real to the Boca del Muelle where they will carry out an Offering to the Holy Patron, transferred to the place in procession from the Church of San Ginés, and where they will carry out a performance with traditional dances and songs.
Later in the afternoon, starting at 7:00 p.m., the Charco de San Ginés will be the scene of the First Senior Citizen Gathering, with performances by Los Jarvac and Los Diablos. Meanwhile, in El Reducto, the Verbenazo will begin at the same time, which will last until 2 a.m. with the intervention of the groups Mambo Latino, Banda Loca and Corinto Band.
As for the sports chapter, there are numerous events planned throughout Saturday. Between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., Playa del Reducto will host the Beach Volleyball Tournament, a Rugby Open Day and the Arrecife City Beach Handball Tournament. In addition, starting at 2:00 p.m. in the waters off the coast of the capital of Lanzarote, the third regatta of the XII César Manrique RCNA Trophy 2023 will take place.
In the afternoon, the courts of the Insular Federation of Bowls and Petanque located on Manolo Millares street will host the second day of the San Ginés Petanque Tournament from 4:00 p.m.; and at 6:00 p.m. the II Triangular Veterans Football Tournament will begin at the Argana Alta Municipal Field.
Events this Friday
Regarding this Friday, starting at 6:00 p.m., the Urban Summer Fest will be held in the Islas Canarias Park, with performances by EDM Canarias, 1515, Nase, Calidah, Kidd Caxopo and El Peluza; and from 9:00 p.m. the Charco de San Ginés will be the scene of the XXIX Arrecife Folk Festival with performances by the same folk groups that will make the Offering to the Holy Patron tomorrow Saturday.
In the sports chapter, the Arrecife coastline hosted this Friday from 11 a.m. the second day of the Regatta XII César Manrique RCNA Trophy 2023; while in the municipal courts on Manolo Millares street, from 5:00 p.m. the XIX Senior Canarian Wood Ball Tournament and from 8:30 p.m. the San Ginés Petanque Tournament.
UD Lanzarote, champion
On the other hand, UD Lanzarote was proclaimed champion last night of the LIV San Ginés Football Tournament by defeating Mensajero de La Palma at the Lanzarote Sports City in the penalty shootout after a 2-2 draw. And also on Thursday night, hundreds of people came to the Islas Canarias Park to enjoy the Tina Turner Tribute 'Tina Live Concert', another of the events included in the extensive and varied program of events of the San Ginés Festivities.
