The Timple House Museum hosted the presentation of the book "Festivals of the Canary Islands" by the writer Juan Agustín Pérez Pérez last Saturday, within the program of the "VI Edition of the Traditional Carnival of Teguise".
The event was presented by Benito Cabrera and was attended by the Councilor for Culture of the Teguise City Council, Nori Machín, the official chronicler of Teguise, Francisco Hernández, representatives of the cultural groups that had participated the night before in the event held in the Plaza de Los Leones and numerous public interested in traditional Canarian culture.
Juan Agustín explained to those present each of the steps taken to complete this work, unique in the Canary Islands with 408 pages illustrated with more than 800 photographs. He also had an extensive text of each of the parties from which the author has collected the corresponding information so that readers can have the greatest knowledge of them.
The presentation of the book "Festivals of the Canary Islands" was also joined by the exhibition "The Traditional Carnivals in the Canary Islands", some of the photographs exhibited are included in the book. Pérez was very grateful for the interest that his book and the exhibition had aroused among the attending public. At the end of the event, councilor Nori Machín, Francisco Hernández and Benito Cabrera presented some sculptures to the writer and the representatives of the cultural groups for their participation in the "VI Edition of the Traditional Carnival of Teguise.
