The Real Club Náutico de Arrecife hosts during this month of November the painting exhibition The sea and I by Maite Cereceda, who has been inspired by the maritime and sunny landscapes of the island of Lanzarote to show her first painting work.
The inauguration of the same will take place this Friday, November 15, starting at 8:00 p.m., and can be seen until November 30 in the César Manrique Hall of the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife.
Maite Cereceda is a former marquetry teacher and four-time Spanish Olympic shooting champion, and has lived in Lanzarote for 19 years, an island that has served as inspiration to prepare her first painting work. A hobby that comes from her father who was an amateur painter and concern that was encouraged when she showed some portraits of a virgin and a still life that her father had also painted.
The fondness for painting was paused for some years for professional and personal reasons. For 19 years she has resided in Lanzarote attracted by the climate and with the landscapes of the island the illusion for painting returned. The sea and I is an artistic collection made entirely in Lanzarote, being inspired by the maritime and sunny landscapes that the island gives daily.
Begoña Hernández, her current painting teacher, and Mercedes Velasco, a member of the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife, have been the people who have encouraged Maite Cereceda to hold her first painting exhibition. An exhibition that will be inaugurated this Friday, starting at 8:00 p.m., in the César Manrique Hall of the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife, and can be visited, with free admission, until November 30.
