Hundreds of people have participated in the procession in honor of the Sacred Heart of Mary in La Caleta de Famara this Sunday. The patron saint of the Caleta residents was escorted by the neighbors through the streets of the town. The mayor of Teguise, Olivia Duque, and the president of the Cabildo, Oswaldo Betancort, have led the delegation that was following the rhythm marked by the Municipal Band of Teguise (Teguiband).
After the land procession, the maritime route was activated in which more than 12 boats participated, while from the town's beach and the pier, hundreds of residents applauded and cheered the Virgin.
Once this traditional event was over, the water party was launched, which closes these festivities with a high level of participation and without any incidents to report.
The mayor of Teguise, Olivia Duque, wanted to highlight the good performance of the additional bus and taxi service "with which we intended to avoid the collapse of cars in the town and safer mobility for all those who have enjoyed these days of the hospitality of the Caleta residents." Likewise, she thanked the work of the Festival Commission, the hospitality of the residents, as well as the exemplary behavior of the thousands of people who gathered during these endearing days with which many put an end to their vacations.
