Art has a presence every year at the Remedios de Yaiza festivities, patron saint celebrations that strive to "cultivate purely popular expressions of immense cultural value", but also disseminate "artistic manifestations in their different forms." This is the case of the collective exhibition that occupies three rooms of the Casa de la Cultura Benito Pérez Armas where the photographer Gustavo Medina, the designer Yaizart and the engraver Sara Quevedo exhibit.
The Remedios commemorative exhibition, inaugurated last Friday by Óscar Noda after the proclamation ceremony, can be visited until next Friday, September 8, so people who visit Yaiza during the morning and those who participate in the events in the Plaza de Remedios in the afternoon, can enjoy the contemplation of the creation from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Gustavo Medina captures "the immense potential that Yaiza has". This exhibition "is exclusive of photos of the municipality", the "hidden and sublime" face of the southern landscape with images as impressive as that of the Castillo del Águila with a storm embracing its night.
Sara Quevedo shows through her paintings and pieces the "scope of the engraving technique that achieves figures and gives creative shapes by burning wood". She is an enterprising woman and skilled in pyrography whose skills have taken her to several exhibition centers.
Yaizart is "a beautiful piece of news, an artistic project related to the culture and sport of Lanzarote". Yaiza Parra is the one who creates all the pieces of art. As a young and self-taught artist, her ability to express her vision of art on any surface, the use of multiple techniques, tattooing and the creation of works with digital tools that provide her with a commercial formula to reproduce her work stands out. Above all, using ecological materials and low-emission production methods to guarantee the minimum carbon footprint of its products.
