Gustavo Medina spends hours day and night capturing artistic images of Lanzarote. The southern photographer professes admiration and respect for his Island and speaks clearly and directly when he begs for the care of the natural environment, so it is not surprising that the thirty images he shares in three rooms of the Casona de Femés, in addition to being a surprising aesthetic proposal, is also a very personal way of expressing the demand for change towards a much more sustainable tourism model.

The palm tree is very present in 'Lanzarote through my eyes', and it is not accidental at all, "it means resistance to adversity and is a symbol of our island of Lanzarote," notes the artist from Playa Blanca. The author has anecdotes to tell about incomprehensible events in damage to the natural environment of which he has witnessed during his long days of capturing images.

The exhibition, which opened on April 25 with a municipal representation headed by the Councilor for Culture of Yaiza, Daniel Medina, can be visited until May 29, from Monday to Friday, in the afternoon, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Family members, neighbors of Yaiza and Lanzarote accompanied the artist on the warm afternoon of the opening of the exhibition.

Impressive photographs of unsuspected corners or very visited places, which observed from the perspective of Gustavo Medina, lead us to think that we sin when we believe that we have seen everything.

Landscapes with mist, landscapes with radiant sun, palm trees that mark territory, agricultural extensions, sunsets and volcanoes, are many of the prints that the photographer gives to contemplation and emotions in a historical place full of memories such as the Casona de Femés. The Yaiza City Council invites you to visit the exhibition.
