The 'Menudos Timplistas' concert closes another year of the Casa-Museo del Timple's annual program

It was held last Sunday at the Santo Domingo Convent in Teguise and was attended by 17 young timple players from different schools

With the concert of 'Menudos Timplistas' held last Sunday at the Santo Domingo Convent in Teguise, the Casa-Museo del Timple closed the program for this year that is about to end.

The event began at 12 noon with the intervention of the Councilor for Culture and Festivities of the City Council, Olivia Duque, who, together with the commissioner of the Casa-Museo del Timple, Benito Cabrera, took stock of how each of the scheduled events had developed, pointing out that the objectives set have been more than met.

Both the councilor and the commissioner also announced to those present that they are already preparing the cultural program for next year, which will feature important new developments that will be announced at a press conference next January. 

 

Seventeen young people from five schools


After their intervention, the closing show began, which for this edition featured a total of 17 young timple players belonging to the music schools of teachers Toñin Corujo from Arrecife, Germán López from Gran Canaria, Gabriel Cubas from Tinajo, Fefo Pérez from Tahíche and José Vicente Pérez from Tías.

In total, 18 compositions of the most varied genres were performed in which each of the students demonstrated their high interpretive qualities. All of them were highly applauded by the audience, composed mostly of family, parents, siblings, grandparents and friends. With the family photo, the cultural program corresponding to the Casa-Museo del Timple of 2018 was closed.
