The Island Library of Lanzarote, dependent on the Education Area of the Cabildo, has organized a literary visit to the Villa de Teguise on the occasion of Canary Islands Day.
The interpretive guided tour will take place next Tuesday, May 28, and participants will be able to learn about the most significant spaces in the history of Teguise, as well as delve into the literary character of the lives of some of its most illustrious residents such as Ángel Guerra, Leandro Perdomo, Clavijo y Fajardo, the Spínola sisters, Gonzalo Argote de Molina, among others. The walk will go through the main streets, alleys and squares, stopping at the most representative buildings to remember and celebrate the literary heritage of our island.
This excursion is free and will depart by bus from the Island Library, located at Rambla Medular 42 in Arrecife at 4:30 p.m. and returning to the same at approximately 7:45 p.m. Those interested in participating in this activity must reserve a place by writing to the email dinamizacionbiblioteca@cabildodelanzarote.com indicating their name, surname and telephone number. Places are limited and will be attended in strict order of registration.
Manga Creation Workshop
On the other hand, the Island Library has also organized a Manga Creation Workshop aimed at young people between 11 and 17 years old. This creative activity will be taught by the expert Alejandra Erazo (Odacómics) in the library's facilities on May 22 and 23 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
During the two sessions, attendees will explore the most characteristic resources of Manga and will seek inspiration so that each participant can create their own personal project. To do this, we will work on kinetic lines and effects, framing and vignettes, the creation of characters as vehicles for narration, etc.
The Minister of Education, Ascensión Toledo, highlights that "this type of event encourages learning and participation of our young people who want to enter this Japanese audiovisual narration that has conquered a large part of the Western public due to the aesthetics of its drawings and stories that are so original and full of fiction."
To be able to attend this free workshop, it is necessary to reserve a place through the email dinamizacionbiblioteca@cabildodelanzarote.com, indicating name and surname, age and a contact telephone number. Places are limited and will be filled in strict order of registration.
