The Cabildo of Lanzarote is currently rolling out the program that the Insular Library has designed for the Christmas season, with proposals that combine culture, imagination, and the promotion of reading.
In this context, a new edition of the ‘Literary Soirée’ arrives this week. This activity will be held next Thursday, December 11, at 6:30 PM, and will feature the participation of writers Benita López Peñate and Begoña Hernández Batista.
The president, Oswaldo Betancort, emphasizes the importance of continuing to develop these types of initiatives that bring citizens together in a space for dialogue and literary discovery. "It is a great opportunity to instill a love for literature in the new generations," he stresses.
For her part, the head of the Education Department, Ascensión Toledo, explains that the recognized authors in this edition will share their work, reflect on their creative processes, and read excerpts from their works. "Poetry and reading are key concepts for the learning and development of youth," she points out.
The event is completely free and open to the public until capacity is reached. Additionally, it will be hosted and moderated by Fabio Carreiro Lago and Yolanda Laparra Ruano, who will facilitate the conversation and encourage interaction with the attending audience.
