Once again, the Lanzarote Book Fair opens its offer to present works to authors who wish to be part of the program. Those interested can access the form, which will remain operational between February 10 and 28 at through the link.
According to Tomás Pérez-Esaú, president of the organizing association Isla Literaria, the request itself does not guarantee the presentation, as the number of requests far exceeds the capacity of the fair: “Our intention is to support literary creation, but in each edition we receive many requests and in four days of the program it is impossible to include them all”. The selection of titles responds to criteria of editorial novelty, literary quality and genre, in order for the final poster to be diverse and attractive to the reading public.
In addition, prior conditions are established in the selection, such as sending the work in advance and accepting the date and time proposed by the organization. The call for entries are available on the website.
In this third edition, the Book Fair will be held between May 8 and 11 in the historic center of San Bartolomé, where the stands of bookstores, publishers and institutions, signing of copies, illustration, etc. will be installed. Casa Cerdeña will be the space for the presentation of the works and the municipal theater will host the proposal of performing arts, which this year will have a greater role given the historical link of the town with theatrical activity.
