This week is starred by the music of the first big Friday of the Arrecife en Vivo Festival. The first of its concerts will be by Rocío Saiz in the Islote de Fermina, followed by that of Jela from Tenerife in the Parque Islas Canarias. The Villa Pipol batucada will continue the route along the marina towards the Marina Lanzarote marina, where Triángulo de Amor Bizarro will perform. The Cruise Ship Pier will host the last shows of the night, the concerts of Zahara, La Gore and the session of Laiv x Aquiles Orquídea.

In addition, there are two other free musical proposals on the island such as the concert by singer-songwriter Julia Rodríguez this Saturday in El Golfo and the Noon Festival on the same day at twelve noon with the clarinet quartet La Bocayna.

In the film section there are separate proposals from Cine Club Lanzarote and Cine Buñuel, as well as a screening of silent film and live piano at the Casa de la Cultura Agustín de la Hoz. Humor comes from Millán Salcedo and magic, from Jorge Blass. For theater lovers, the Somos company presents 'La comunidad de la naranja' in Tías.

Finally, the agenda highlights the international event Equinox Lanzarote, which celebrates the balance between light and darkness during the autumn equinox, with immersive art, talks, astronomical observation and sensory experiences.

CINEMA

 

  • The Open Mouth. Lanzarote Film Club

Cine Club Lanzarote celebrates the centenary of the birth of Maurice Pialat, a filmmaker as fundamental as he is unfairly forgotten, with the screening of one of his most emblematic works. Considered a late continuator of the Nouvelle Vague, Pialat tells in this film how in a town in the French region of Auvergne, a woman suffering from cancer lives the last months of her life. Around her, her family must accompany her in her agony. After her death, life must continue.

Where: El Almacén, Arrecife.

When: Saturday, September 20. At 6:00 p.m. talk and at 7:00 p.m. the screening.

  • The sleeper. Buñuel Cinema

El Almacén's Cine Buñuel presents The sleeper, a documentary film about the hectic race to acquire a lost painting by Caravaggio. An Ecce Homo that for years hung in the living room of a Madrid family who, without knowing that it was by the Italian genius and could be worth 300 million euros, put it up for auction for 1,500 euros.

  • Modern Times Festival. Seven Chances

The Nino Díaz Foundation organizes a film and concert session with the screening of Seven Chances (1925), a brilliant comedy by Buster Keaton, accompanied live on piano by Jorge Gil Zulueta. An evening where the music will be born, breathe and run alongside the images, as it did more than a century ago.

HUMOR

 

  • Millán Salcedo

Millán Salcedo presents his show "Digamelón", a journey through humor through the experiences of one of the most iconic figures of Spanish comedy.

With the mordacity and spark that characterize him, Millán mixes current affairs, anecdotes and live confessions.

Where: Jameos del Agua Auditorium.

MAGIC

 

  • Jorge Blass. Ilusionarte

Ilusionarte is the new show by Jorge Blass, which invites you to rediscover the wonder through impossible effects and moments full of emotion.

THEATER

 

  • The Orange Community

The theater company 'Somos' presents the play "La Comunidad de la Naranja", a fun and original proposal that promises to excite and make the audience laugh.

LIGHTING

 

  • Equinox Lanzarote

Equinox Lanzarote is an international event that celebrates the balance between light and darkness during the autumn equinox, with activities such as immersive art, talks, astronomical observation and sensory experiences. In natural settings such as Jameos del Agua or the Mirador del Río, it invites us to reflect on how we illuminate and inhabit the world from a creative, ecological and conscious perspective.

When: Thursday, September 18 and Friday, September 19 from 9:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Where: Jameos del Agua and Mirador del Río.

Entry from 40 euros, free for students. Program and tickets.

 

 

MUSIC

 

  • La Bocayna. Noon Canarias

The clarinet quartet that forms La Bocayna will offer a concert at 12:00 noon at the Casa de la Cultura Agustín de la Hoz.

  • Arrecife en Vivo. First Friday.

The first concert route of Arrecife begins this Saturday with the electronic and combative pop of Rocío Saiz at 6:00 p.m. in the Islote de Fermina. It continues with the mixed neosoul of Jela at 7:30 p.m. in the Parque Islas Canarias and continues with the Galician band Triángulo de amor bizarro of independent rock at 9:00 p.m. in La Marina de Arrecife.

Afterwards, the party continues only for adults at the Cruise Ship Pier with performances by Zahara and La Gore.

Art as a form of activism, the persistence of physical and verbal violence against diversity and the representation of the LGTBI+ collective in the cultural sector will be some of the topics that will be addressed in this meeting that will be held the day before, on Thursday, September 18 at 6:00 p.m. in the Islote de Fermina, with free entry.

Los Villa Pipol will be in charge of the parade between stages.

  • Julia Rodríguez. Yaiza Sound Nature

The guest of September to the Yaiza Naturaleza Sonora cycle is the singer-songwriter Julia Rodríguez from Majorera, whose musical style is based on the mixture of elements of Canarian and Latin American folklore with the current singer-songwriter song.
