The Agustín de la Hoz House of Culture hosted this Thursday the third concert "Music and Literature" organized by the Classical Orchestra of Lanzarote, a concert that is within the program of the VIII Classical Concerts Cycle Arrecife 2024. This time it was held on the top floor in a large hall with full capacity allowed.

The program chosen for this occasion was based on literature and films, because all the compositions were made based on written books and film directors chose for their films to which musical themes were expressly composed and chosen from the wide classical repertoire that exists.

For this concert the direction of the Classical Orchestra of Lanzarote had the collaboration of the Association of Writers. One has been Paulette Peyroneet who made a reading of El Quixote de Cervantes, this work was in the program with music by the composer Georg Telemann. Subsequently, the student of the IES Agustín Espinosa, Juan Jesús Fernández, performed, who read a fragment of Harry Potter by the composer Williams who composed it for the film.

The concert began with the chords of the composition of Nino Rota, for the film Romeo and Juliet directed by Franco Zefirelli. Rota is one of the most versioned and sung themes in history. The concert continued with A Midsummer Night's Dream by Félix Mendelssohn. Six movements of Don Quixote by Georg Telemann, composers such as Debussy, Grieg, Arlen Howard Shore of the Lord of the Rings and ending with a theme composed by John Williams for Harry Potter.

It is the first time that the direction of the OCL changes the stage choosing this large room on the top floor of the House of Culture, a success for its amplitude and with an extraordinary acoustics that the audience valued very positively, the concert ended with the movement In the hall of the Mountain King of Edvard H. Grieg. The public presented the members of the Quintet with sonorous applause that were received with gestures of affection by the musicians.

The next appointment will be on Friday, March 22 at 8:00 p.m. at the Agustín de la Hoz House of Culture with "El Trío", violinist David Ballesteros, clarinetist Andrea Chico and pianist Luis López.
