The Arrecife Fairgrounds hosted this Friday, February 13, the long-awaited Grand Final of the Murgas Contest of the Carnival, a gala that once again highlighted the high level of the Lanzarote groups and crowned the Murga Afilarmónica Los Simplones as the great winner, which took home no less than four awards.

The gala, held at the capital's Exhibition Centre, was presented by Francisco José Navarro and Carmen Nieves, with Leandro Martín in charge of the backstage, bringing dynamism and closeness on a night full of emotion, criticism, and spectacle.

While the jury deliberated, the Argentine singer Sergio Aranda delighted the audience with his performance, maintaining the festive atmosphere and anticipation until the most awaited moment: the reading of the verdict.

With this result, the Murga Afilarmónica Los Simplones became the undisputed protagonist of the night, sweeping the Murga Contest by winning four awards: Criticón, First Prize for Interpretation, Lyrics and Music, First Prize for Fantasy, Design and Costume, and Presentation Award.

The audience that filled the Arrecife Fairgrounds vibrated with each performance in a final marked by quality, satire, and wit, reaffirming the fundamental role of murgas within the capital's Carnival.
