The mayor of Teguise, Olivia Duque, and the Councilor for Festivities and Culture, Javier Díaz, presented this Friday the program of the 'Noche Blanca' of La Villa de Teguise, which will be held on July 28 from five in the afternoon until two in the morning.
"The celebration of the eleventh edition demonstrates that this event, which was an innovation in the island's cultural agenda, is already consolidated. In 2023, we have continued to focus on enriching revitalization for all audiences, reducing the prominence of the merely festive in favor of the performing arts, dance, music or poetry," explained Duque.
For her part, the Councilor for Commerce and Consumption, Nieves Martínez, highlighted that "this event generates a circular economy in the historic center by highlighting the commercial and gastronomic area, and also generates employment among many companies that are dedicated to leisure and revitalization."
In this edition, the 'Noche Negra' has been recovered, which will be held with four sessions in the Castle of Santa Bárbara and that according to the director of the Actua company, Germán Barrios, "entails the staging of the history of the pirates who besieged and kidnapped the residents of La Villa and especially the family of the Marquis de Herrera." To attend these performances that will begin when the sun has set, you must collect tickets (from next Tuesday) at the Department of Culture from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and to facilitate the mobility of attendees there will be a bus transfer from the Municipal Theater. For the show 'Canciones en su tinta' by Duende Josele Dúo, which will take place at seven in the afternoon, it is also necessary to collect an invitation.
The Councilor for Culture and Festivities has also recalled that maps will be distributed (in public spaces, shops and restaurants) where the different activities and their schedules are located "to facilitate the public's choice of where they want to be, because there are activities that occur simultaneously."
In addition, at www.teguise.es the schedules of the special bus service that the Island Council will provide will be publicized "so that this initiative, which already has an island character, is developed with comfort and safety for citizens."
