Apotheosic gala presentation for the 20th anniversary of the murga Los Simplones. The Municipal Theater of Tías was filled with family, friends and supporters to enjoy the event, which featured the animation of DJ Ángel Pérez.

The gala began at nine o'clock at night. Los Simplones, created in the seaside neighborhood of Valterra, were very excited and happy to be present at the Carnival of Lanzarote for another year. A great family where everyone works together to achieve their goal, to excite the population, trying to make them put aside their daily problems for a few days and enjoy these festivities.

Ro Garrigós, in charge of presenting the gala, began it with the presentation of the comparsa Los Cumbacheros de Tahíche. This group is directed and chaired by Sergio Niz, with musical direction by Gesury García. This year they have 69 members who wear the fantasy of designer Borja Abreu 'Dare to dream'. They were in charge of filling the first part of the show with their rhythm and color.

Next, the 'Carlos Pérez and Iván Carlos, El Raskay' awards were presented. Both awards are put to a secret vote by the members of the murga themselves. The Carlos Pérez award is given to the member who promotes camaraderie and a good atmosphere among everyone, and this year it went to Cristo Morales. The Iván Carlos, El Raskay award is given to the colleague who is most involved in the tasks of working, always willing to help colleagues, and this year it went to Ruimán Álvarez.

In this edition and on the occasion of the 20th anniversary, the management of the murga dedicated an 'opinion space' that included the collaboration of Juan Gutiérrez, a member of the murga Los Gurfines, and the former councilors of Festivals of the Arrecife City Council, Encarna Páez and Víctor San Ginés. Both answered several questions asked by the presenter Ro Garrigós about how they have seen the development of the murga Los Simplones during these 20 years, also interspersing other brushstrokes of the carnival in general.

Later, came the most anticipated moment of the night, the staging of the hosts. First, to know their design, which this year they have called 'Not everything is what it seems, the 20 years are present', designed by the murga itself, which has the confection of Renne Modisto and the murga.

The musical part began with a lively parade, giving way to one of the songs that they will take to the murga contest in Arrecife and that they titled 'The Statement'. A song with a very current content, where news arrives by the minute through radio, television, digital newspapers and social networks, which are causing communication between people, parents, children, family and friends to be minimal every day: In addition, they talked about the statements of the Water Consortium of Lanzarote where they do not communicate the water cuts that the inhabitants of Lanzarote are currently suffering, the same thing happening with Health etc.

With the interpretation of the anthem, with a very dedicated audience standing up that also joined their voices, the final point was put to a night that the family of the murga Los Simplones will not forget so easily.
