The San Bartolomé City Council presented the book "Guatisea Deposits", a work carried out by the neighbor, Margarita Machín Rocío (Marita), on the afternoon of last Tuesday, April 18 at the Eugenia Senior Center.

The presentation was attended by family, friends and neighbors as well as Isidro Pérez and councilors Marlene Romero and Alma González. It began with the welcoming words of the mayor who "was very happy" for the "interest that had aroused" the publication of the book and the support "received from the public who attended the presentation", they recognize from the Consistory.

"Thanks to people like Margarita, the new generations can learn about a part of the history of San Bartolomé related to the "Culture of Water"", stressed the mayor.

Then the editor of the book, Elena Morales, spoke, thanking "the collaboration of the residents of the municipality" for "going out of their way to contribute their experiences", and making the event "endearing due to the generosity and affection of the people."

Marita, the author, has spent 24 years taking care that each of the documents "are safe" so that the history of the municipality of San Bartolomé "is not lost", they recognize. A woman is characterized by "her responsibility and dedication from the first day she arrived at the Historical Archive facilities, they confess.

They clarify that she has collected a "sample of the steps that were taken for the construction of a monumental hydraulic work, the deposits on the side of the "Guatisea Mountain"". Something "essential for the supply of the citizens of San Bartolomé in the 70s", they recall. In addition, in its pages you can access an ordered compendium of images, bulletins and other relevant documentary archives.

"Very excited and with a broken voice and very supported by everyone"

The author, "very excited and with a broken voice" gave "thanks to everyone" for accompanying her, in something that "was very rewarding for her", in addition "seeing herself supported by family, friends and neighbors", they collect.

The act ended with the signing of the book that was given to each of the attendees by the City Council.
