The Canarian comedian Omayra Cazorla begins on March 20 the tour of her new show Así somos at the Auditorium of the Jameos del Agua in Lanzarote. The aforementioned show, based “on a text with vindictive touches, direct, irreverent and full of truth and, above all, very Canarian”, will later tour numerous cultural spaces in the Canary Islands during the year.

Two of the best and most popular comic artists in the Canary Islands, Omayra Cazorla and Kike Pérez, seem to have agreed this year to choose the island of Lanzarote to open the respective tours of their new shows. Pérez did it a few days ago in Tías, while Cazorla will do it next March in Haría

Tickets for Así somos can now be purchased online on the website of the Centers for Art, Culture and Tourism of Lanzarote, by clicking on the events tab.

After a productive 2024 with her tour called ¿Viniste?, ¡Qué Atrevida! with which she toured the islands and many cities of the Peninsula, the artist from the capital neighborhood of Escaleritas in Gran Canaria returns to the stage with Así somos, with which she invites us to reflect between laughs on the vertiginous existences we lead, the moments in which everything seems to fall apart and the personal challenges that confront us with ourselves.

“Because yes, reality surpasses fiction, and here I am to tell it”, explains the comedian. In Así somos there is reflection and an essential dose of mental health, the one we need so much in these times that drag us like tsunamis”, she adds.

“I have a part of improvisation, even if there is a text that governs me. When I get on stage I leave my ego behind, I dissociate myself to face the representation with my own energy. My way of creating involves connecting with the public. I do everything possible for it, except taking off my pants, which may be an option, but I haven't felt like it yet”, she explained jokingly.

“The years and experience have allowed me to be more flexible and tame my temperament on stage. I don't want to be pigeonholed in the angry character”, Cazorla anticipates, who has premiered in the last three years '¿Viniste?, ¡Qué Atrevida!' (2024), 'Yo también fui hetero' (2023) and 'Show woman' (2022).

From acting in free bars, Cazorla has become one of the most popular and respected comedians in the Canary Islands, who has ended up being claimed by Spanish comedians of the stature of Ana Morgade, Carolina Iglesias, Eva Hache or Luis Piedrahita, in the last two shows 'Mentes Peligrosas' included in the programming of the successful Reislas Festival.

Closed dates of the tour

The dates that, for the moment, the Canarian theaters offer in their respective programs this year for the show of the Gran Canaria comedian are, in addition to the aforementioned natural auditorium in Conejero on March 20, the Teatro Leal in La Laguna on March 21, the CICCA in the capital of Gran Canaria on March 22, the Infanta Leonor Auditorium in Arona (Tenerife) on May 2, the Guaires Cultural Center in Gáldar (Gran Canaria) on May 23, the Symphony Hall of the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium on November 2 and the Federico García Lorca Cultural Center in Ingenio (Gran Canaria) on November 7.

The new tour of 'Así somos' by Omayra Cazorla is distributed by Multitrack, which celebrates 36 years of professional experience this year promoting artistic proposals in the field of culture of the islands, and which was recognized last year with an award at the sixth edition of the Canarian Music Awards.

The tour of the show '&Así somos' has the collaboration of the Canarian Institute for Cultural Development of the Government of the Canary Islands and the sponsorship of Cicar.
