The contestants, impersonating beauty queens, are far from competing in the Pardela Gala of El Golfo. The guys know and assume that the satirical show has the noble purpose of allowing the audience to disconnect from their routine, have a laugh, and have a very fun time, as dozens of spectators did this Saturday, packing the tent of the popular festivities on a new glamorous night that chose and crowned 'Menuita' as the brand new Miss Pardela 2023, accompanied on the podium of style by 'Mustachita', Miss Congeniality, and 'Condolencias', who convinced the jury to award her the title of Miss Elegance.
The high participation of spectators of all ages and from different parts of Lanzarote, and the record this year of 32 beauty queen contestants on the catwalk, already make the Pardela Gala a 'top' event on the island, a show where humor is above all else, and it has been since the Festival Committee decided to include it in the program of popular celebrations of the coastal town located in the municipality of Yaiza.
Despite the large participation of beauty queens, the gala was not a drag at all. The good work of the guys embodying elegant girls and their desire to please the public by confidently walking the catwalk, together with the rhythm of the music and the clear-sighted presentation of the handsome Guayo Rodríguez, who this time was not affected by the classic Barça - Madrid match, rounded off a night of pure fun.
The girls, at least that's what the organization made known, were concentrated since Friday in a hotel in Playa Blanca, from where they arrived dressed in ostentatious costumes, headdresses, and accessories, although some, including 'Menuita', who finally took the prize, opted for simplicity and discretion, which does not mean that they did not give it their all on stage, but rather that we say they did it in a more "sober" way.
The jury, chaired by Juan Antonio Machado, had the difficult task of evaluating the performance of the 32 beauty queens and choosing, and they did so conscientiously and without being influenced by the flirtatiousness of the most daring girls. The sovereign public supported the jury's decision and everyone went home happy with the feeling of having had a tremendously hilarious and fun night.
On behalf of the Yaiza City Council, the Councilor for Festivities, Javier Camacho, thanks the participation of each of the contestants and their sponsoring houses and the support of the attendance represented in the full house of the gala, whose photo gallery is published on yaiza.es
