After two years of pandemic, there was a desire for carnival, and Las Enraladas demonstrated it. The Municipal Theater of Tías was the stage chosen by the murga to present themselves to the society of Lanzarote on the night of last Saturday, January 14th.
The act began with the performance of the most international batucada, "Villa Pipol". The group was founded in 1998 and is currently directed by Iván Carmona and chaired by Francisco Javier Oubiña. With its 33 members, they carried out a spectacular entrance with fast-paced rhythms announcing that the carnival is already here.
Next, the children's murga "Los Chau Chau" took the stage. This murga was created in 2006 with its 30 members musically directed by Samuel Hernández and under the presidency of Pedro Hernández. Later, the transformist from Lanzarote "Assia Shaik" performed, who has participated in contests such as "Goddess of Spain", where she won the title of "Gay Goddess Lanzarote".
On stage, the voices of the carnival were heard again with the performance of the murga "Los Trapasones" who came from the Polígono Cruz de Piedra in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. A group that was founded in 2005. Its 64 members, presided over by Juan Carmona Hormiga and directed by José Yeray Hernández, performed the song "La Crispación".
After Los Traspasones, the drag "Avalon" made its entrance into the theater, surrounded by applause from the audience, wearing the fantasy "Ay Comadre te lo vas a pasar de Miedo" by designers Dani Viera and Rubén Pérez. "Avalon" surprised with its very careful staging that the public rewarded with applause.
The presentation gala reached the most anticipated moment of the night, that of being able to discover the best kept secret of the murga groups, their lyrics and fantasies, a moment that occurred when the 43 members of Las Enraladas made their entrance into the theater to the rhythm of a pasacalle until reaching the stage where they performed the song "Un gran Esfuerzo". Las Enraladas was founded in 2017 and participated for the first time in the 2018 carnival. Its president is Davinia Hernández, the musical director is Mirian Hernández, the designer is Tauce Renda who is the creator of the fantasy "Entre el reloj nos adentramos y en la locura nos enralamos". A very elaborate fantasy with a lot of color and very carnival-like. What was clear on Saturday is that the carnival is already here.
