The Islote de Fermina vibrated last Saturday with the performances of Grison Beatbox, known in the national territory for his participation in the program La Resistencia, and DJ CHK in the second edition of "Noches de Fermina".

At eight in the afternoon, a line of people waited at the door of the Islote de Fermina. The capacity was full, but they came hoping that some attendee would fail at the last minute to be able to access the venue.

People have enjoyed it to the fullest, with one of the events that arrived last year to stay on the cultural agenda of the capital,” says the mayor of Arrecife, Astrid Pérez.

A few minutes later, the lights announced the appearance on stage of Marcos Martínez, known as Grison Beatbox, who was "received with applause and shouts by an audience that filled the spectacular space of the Arrecife marina", they explain from the Consistory.

Grison thus began a beatbox session that was structured by a sense of show and absolutely brilliant humor. Although he is not a professional comedian, his way of relating to music and the world implies a comforting naturalness and acute doses of ingenuity.

"In a show that mixed concert and comic monologue, Grison recreated helicopters or the sensation of entering the bathroom of a disco, but above all he managed to get the public in his pocket and that several people went on stage to accompany him singing or dancing. If Grison has something, it is that he is capable of generating any rhythm that is synonymous with party: techno, rap, rock, hip hop, drum&bass, Latin, reggae, everything and everything good", they point out from the Consistory.

Grison involved the public. Alberto and Jesús, from Barcelona, did squats and a blender with a wonderful sense of humor. Jesús, Bárbara, and a lot of people accepted Grison's invitation to participate in the show, in a family atmosphere that at times recalled the one that is experienced every night at the Teatro Príncipe Gran Vía during the recording of La Resistencia, the late show directed by David Broncano in which Grison is a fundamental piece, not only for being 50% of the band but for being the counterpoint to the interviews.

“Have you come from Albacete to see me here?”, Grison asked two girls from the audience. Affirmative. They were not the only ones. The combination of Lanzarote, Islote de Fermina and live music is attractive enough to book a weekend to travel to the capital of the island.

After 90 minutes of absolute spectacle, Grison gave way to Manuel Moreno, whose artistic name is DJ CHK, the current world runner-up of the DMC World DJ Championships. "Under the shelter of the bars, fleeing from an incipient drizzle and a constant wind, the night was enveloped in smoke and in a fascinating session that mixed the art of turntablism and a selection of ultra-danceable songs of all musical styles", highlights the City Council.

"DJ CHK has the ability to adapt like no one else to the rhythm of the night, being able to play that song that is at the intersection between what the dance floor needs and what he wants", they point out from the Consistory.

Noches de Fermina is a project sponsored by the Tourism area of the Arrecife City Council and the Government of the Canary Islands, through Promotur Turismo de Islas Canarias and the Canarian Institute of Cultural Development.
