"Lunáticxs," the monologue competition promoted by the Tourist Centers and Estudios Multitrack, already has its eight talents after the selection process concluded, in which 24 applicants from different parts of the Canary Islands participated. Ahead lies the exciting challenge of making people laugh to win over the audience—and the master of ceremonies, the genius Kike Pérez—in the four qualifying galas that will be held in the restaurant of the Castillo de San José starting this coming Monday, October 20.
The contest has maintained its commitment to diversity and parity, selecting four women and four men who represent the strength and innovation of humor in the archipelago.
The Counselor of the Tourist Centers, Ángel Vázquez, wanted to express his gratitude for the great reception of this new initiative: “it has exceeded all our expectations not only for the quantity but also for the quality and talent of the applicants. This type of project is essential for the Tourist Centers since it allows us to give a boost to local art and transform a historical space such as the Castillo de San José into an accessible and attractive cultural focus for all types of audiences.”
Grand Premiere: First Gala this Coming Monday
The action starts immediately: this coming Monday, October 20, the first Lunáticxs Gala will take place. It will be at 8:30 p.m. in the San José Castle, with all the attention focused on Ivi from Lanzarote and Jacobo Santiago from Gran Canaria.
The Calendar
The next date on the calendar will be November 3rd, with Yésica Trujillo (Tenerife) and Marcos “El Peludo” (La Palma).
The qualifying galas will close on November 10, with Nereidramas (Lanzarote) and Rayco Marrero (Gran Canaria), and on the 17th of the same month, with Ana Marín (Tenerife) and Ivanxi (Tenerife).
The grand Final Gala will take place on Monday, November 24, at 8:30 p.m., where the finalists will compete to win the crown of new Canarian humor.
