The murga Las Vacilonas, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, performed this Saturday at the Víctor Fernández Gopar Theater, making the most of the last days for its participation in the XXXIII Arrecife Murgas Contest.
A very varied show that included, first of all, the performance of the students of the MT Dance dance school directed by Tatiana Niz. The young dancers surprised the audience with very striking choreographies, with some somewhat acrobatic movements that have captivated the new generations, to which the attendees responded with their applause.
Next, Drag Oberon became the star of the night with his choreographic movements on some heart-stopping platforms. He wore a striking fantasy that he shed to the rhythm of the musical chords and the applause of the public.
For the presentation night, the 46 members of the murga Las Inadaptadas also took to the stage of El Salinero. This carnival group was founded in 2002, is chaired by Cataisa Cabrera and directed in the musical part by Raquel Cabrera. They performed the Pasacalle and the Farewell. Las Inadaptadas did not hesitate at any time to share the night and be with their colleagues.
And the most awaited moment of the night arrived, being able to see and listen to the 40 members of the murga Las Vacilonas. This murga was founded in 2013, its president is Isabel Miranda, the musical direction is by Marta Ruíz, the harmonization is by Luisma Muñoz, Yeray Bajera acts as lyricist, the fantasy is called "Today I make carnival to enjoy it again", a creation by the designer Toño Aparicio, very original with a lot of color highlighting a large mask, a sign of carnival identity.
The song chosen for their presentation and which they will later take to the contest was titled "The accounts don't add up", also adding the Pasacalle and, how could it be otherwise, their lively farewell.
Almost at the end of the show, the lyricist Yeray Bajera was pleasantly surprised by Las Vacilonas, who presented him with an original gift, a sculpture with the murga's logo. Las Vacilonas, in the years that they have been participating in the Lanzarote carnival, have won several awards in the categories of Interpretation, Lyrics, Music, Fantasy and Design.
