The Haría City Council presented this Thursday, October 5, the 'Oktoberfest' festival, a festivity that commemorates the 50th anniversary of the town and that will be "the biggest party in history" of this northern settlement.
The event took place in the Charco del Palo Shopping Center and was attended by the mayor of Haría, Alfredo Villalba; the first Deputy Mayor, Chaxiraxi Niz; the fourth Deputy Mayor, Marcos Lemes; the Councilor for Tourism, Nuria Esther Acuña; the Councilor for Culture, Paula Montero; the president and vice president of the Charco del Palo Neighborhood Association, Jakob Beckstein and Antonio Bravo Pinela, as well as the designer of the poster, Alex Dorta, among others.
During the ceremony, the poster of the 'Oktoberfest' was revealed, as well as the program designed by the City Council, in collaboration with the Neighborhood Association and the Cabildo of Lanzarote, which will consist of a tribute to this settlement through activities, gastronomy and music, among others.
The Government group has highlighted that "this will be the first major festival to be held in Charco del Palo, coinciding with its 50th anniversary, and with this we intend to pay tribute to the German citizens who throughout our history as a tourist destination have chosen our island and especially our municipality to either enjoy vacation periods."
"El Charco del Palo represents better than anyone the spirit of freedom, tolerance and integration that European peoples have always had on our island. Therefore, it deserves to have its main festival, and although this town is very different from the rest, the festival will be original and fun," the representatives of the Corporation have expressed.
Finally, the City Council hopes that "they enjoy the 'Oktoberfest' and all the events prepared with all the love by the neighbors and by the workers who have participated in the organization of this birthday that will be unforgettable for the town."
