The Centers of Art, Culture and Tourism recover next Friday, February 13, the traditional carnival party of El Almacén with a party inspired by the 80s to rescue a way of celebrating as free as it is spontaneous.

The party, free and open to the public until capacity is reached, proposes a collective immersion in a decade marked by the explosion of pop culture, music, and transgressive aesthetics. These are the years of the iconic program La Bola de Cristal and its no less mythical Bruja Avería; of Naranjito and the alien invasion of the lizards from "V"; of Loquillo and Alaska y los Pegamoides; also of the terrifying Thriller; of lasers and shoulder pads; of fluorescent colors, skinny jeans, and David Bowie's eclectic Let’s Dance.

The day will kick off around 3:00 PM with Checha, who will offer one of those carnival sessions that elevated him to the Olympus of the mixing desksAround 5:00 PM, Ale Acosta will take the helm, accompanied by the Batucada Villa Pipol in a collaboration that has consolidated as one of the great hallmarks of the Tourist Centers' festivities

Maxi Ferrer will close an afternoon-evening that will hold some surprise or other with one of his danceable sets.

“The objective is to reopen the doors of this emblematic space for the delight of the nostalgic, but also for those who want to discover how Carnival was celebrated in this historic cultural hub,” stated the Minister of Tourism Centers, Ángel Vázquez, who has encouraged citizens to participate in a party “that will not leave anyone indifferent”.

The Carnival at El Almacén

Tradition, transgression, spontaneity, color, culture, simplicity, wildness and little masks gave life to a cocktail that was shaken vigorously at number 33 José Betancort street in Arrecife with the arrival of Don Carnal. The nights of El Almacén were born at the hands of César Manrique, grew and became a legend for all lovers of the Canary Islands Carnival. "They have a Designation of Origin; they are heritage to be protected," say the experts.

With this party, the Tourist Centers seek to recover the atmosphere and essence of those celebrations that are part of the collective imagination of the Arrecife Carnival
