Editorial Siete Islas Receives the Business Initiative Award for its Inclusive Work

Ismael Lozano accepted the award at the Manolita Chen Awards gala, which recognizes LGTBIQ+ visibility in Spain.

On September 20 at 9:00 p.m., Ismael Lozano, manager of Editorial Siete Islas, accepted the award for business initiative in favor of the inclusion and visibility of the LGTBIQ+ community at the III Edition of the Manolita Chen Foundation Awards at the RITUAL Torremolinos hotel (Málaga), which recognize the work of people, initiatives and institutions in our country that have stood out in 2025 in favor of the LGTBIQ+ community.

The gala, organized by the Manolita Chen Foundation and the Ritual Hoteles business group, was financed by the Diputación de Cádiz and consisted of a whole day of coexistence with various activities. The culmination was a charity dinner and a great show in honor of the award winners. The presenter of the Gala and Master of Ceremonies was the popular artist Lara Sajen.

This call for Awards is national in scope and has had a high number of nominations. The Board of Trustees of the Manolita Chen Foundation agreed, at the proposal of the jury, that the people and institutions awarded in 2025 have been the following:

Award for LGTBI ACTIVISM: Daniel Valero “Tigrillo”.

Award for SOCIAL INITIATIVE: Sevilla II Penitentiary Center. 

Award for PUBLIC INSTITUTION: Torremolinos City Council and General Directorate for Equality of LGTBIQ+ people (Ministry of Equality). 

Award for RESEARCH AND DISSEMINATION of LGTBI Heritage and Memory: General Archive of Andalusia (Junta de Andalucía) and Historical Archive of Social Movements (Ministry of Culture)..

Award for BUSINESS INITIATIVE: Editorial Siete Islas. Lanzarote.

Award for EDUCATIONAL INITIATIVE: Pablo de Olavide University. Seville

Ismael Lozano dedicated the award to his daughter and highlighted the figure of Manolita Chen, mentioning “that in these times of darkness where there is an attempt to make the LGTBIQ+ community invisible, people like Manolita Chen are beacons that guide and inspire us to be better people and continue fighting for our rights.”

Editorial Siete Islas was born in Lanzarote in September 2015 with the intention of publishing novels that excite us, that make us feel, and since its origins it has been committed to creating literary references for the LGTBIQ+ community, currently having a Diverse Literature Award sponsored by the prestigious SHANGAY magazine and the Ritual Hoteles chain, which has the support of 40 LGTBIQ+ associations throughout the national territory.
