The cultural and artistic associations Desidida and Ars Magna held a mural workshop this past Wednesday dedicated to the Tinguafaya Association with the collaboration of Cultura Arrecife, headed by the councilor responsible for this area in the Arrecife City Council, Abigail González.

The initiative is part of the II Argana Baja Mural Circuit, which is being held throughout this week in the aforementioned neighborhood of Arrecife and which this time features an endemic bird of the Canary Islands archipelago that is in danger of extinction as its protagonist: the Canarian houbara, a symbol of persistence and adaptation.

Abigail González highlights the importance of this "excellent initiative to bring art closer to a group that performs a very important social role in caring for people with special needs"; at the same time, she invites citizens to enjoy the II Argana Baja Mural Circuit promoted by Desidia.

The workshop, held at the behest of Ars Magna, featured the participation of this year's two mural protagonists, the Canarian visual artist Paula Calavera and the Italian urban artist Rame 13, who inspired the creative talents of users of the Tinguafaya Association, a non-profit social entity dedicated to leisure, free time, and family respite for people with disabilities.

Location of the murals

Resilience is the title of the mural that Rame 13 is creating with dimensions of 8.8 meters wide by 9.1 meters high on the back of Manguia street, number 9 in Argana Baja. For his part, Calavera has named his mural, 10 meters wide by 9.1 meters high, Sabina returns home on the back of her beast Saborín, which he is creating on Martínez Montañez street, number 18, in the aforementioned Arrecife neighborhood.

Abigail González encourages all citizens to enjoy the creative process of the II Argana Baja Mural Circuit live, promoted by Desidia, which will contribute to beautifying public spaces and is sponsored by the Canary Institute for Cultural Development (ICDC), the Government of the Canary Islands, and Pinturas Yerbeli.
