The Arrecife City Council has symbolically made salt carpets this Saturday next to the Church of San Ginés to commemorate Corpus Christi Day.
"Even in this year with the pandemic and the restrictions and regulations against covid 19, from the Arrecife City Council we wanted to remember the tradition of Corpus with the salt carpets," said the mayor of Arrecife.

City Council staff, "voluntarily and with the supervision of Tejure's artistic work", have created these carpets "remembering the fishing and salt-making origin of our capital."
Finally, Pérez pointed out that "we all hope that we can soon return to the new normal and next year we can all participate in the making of carpets in many more streets of Arrecife."
