With great solemnity, the parish of San Ginés Obispo in Arrecife celebrated the feast of Palm Sunday. This day marks the beginning of the journey towards the Passion of Christ.
At 11:00 a.m., with the three naves of the temple packed by the faithful and the surroundings near the entrance doors presided over by the parish priest Juan Carlos Medina assisted by the acolytes, the Eucharist began with the blessing of the branches and palms, continuing with the special readings of this day, highlighting the reading of "The Passion of the Lord", according to Saint Luke.
After the Eucharist, the procession of the "Lord of the Little Donkey" began, headed by the Musical Union Band of Lanzarote, directed by Professor Pepe Artiles, presided over by the parish priest Juan Carlo Medina. The parishioners, with branches and palms raised, singing, toured the streets of the city and the maritime avenue, concluding in the church of San Ginés with the ringing of the bells and the applause of the parishioners. Concluding this day, one of the most significant days of the Christian liturgical calendar that marks the beginning of Holy Week.
