Despite the yellow warning announced by Aemet for strong winds and waves, the IV Candlelight Concert Homage to the Man of the Sea was a success. Some 3,000 people, according to the organization, gathered on the banks of the San Ginés pond to enjoy a unique spectacle of its kind. A risky event since it depends on the climatology and the tides, phenomena totally uncontrollable by the human being. This fourth edition was dedicated to the soundtracks of films, something new to be able to take a tour of some of the bands which have left their mark on many lovers of the big screen.

The IV Candlelight Concert, began with 3 movements of the Water Music by the composer Haendel, coinciding with the premiere he made 300 years ago on the River Thames in a maritime excursion offered by King George I of England. While the musical notes were playing, a boat approached the floating stage with the real characters simulating the scene lived in that time. Then the compositions of the soundtracks of films as well known as Star Wars, The Wizard of Oz, Gone with the Wind, Harry Potter, The Magic Disney, Jaws and Pirates of the Caribbean among others began to sound.

At the end of each of the musical compositions the public located on the bank responded with their applause. But without a doubt, the loudest ovation occurred when the one corresponding to The Chorus Boys, Caresse Sur L'ocean and Vois Sur Ton Chemin sounded, to which the 50 components, girls and boys of the Antonio Zerolo school, put their voices. Choir that is directed by Merche Arcas, Regla Santana and José María Vicente, director of the concert. Then they performed Lo Bello es Vivir from the movie, La Vida es Bella counting on this occasion with the participation of the soprano Beny Ferrer. The strong applause resonated throughout the Charco with compliments included. During the development of the concert also made an appearance the famous jolateros and canoes with their occupants very well dressed for the occasion.

The morro de la Elvira, part of the wall that surrounds the pond as well as some of the boats anchored in the area wore lit candles and very close to the stage in the sheet of water floated two huge balloons where images related to each of the 20 bands that sounded in the concert were projected. For this year the event featured 35 musicians the voices of the sopranos, Esther Alfonso, Judith Pezoa, Beny Ferrer and the tenor Besay Pérez directed by Professor José María Vicente. All of them supported by a numerous and tireless production team formed by about 60 people under the coordination and direction of Roberto Fuentes.

After almost two hours of music the concert came to an end with the interpretation of the Hallelujah of the composer Leonard Cohen as soloists were in front, Roberto Fuentes and Besay Pérez thus ending the IV Candlelight Concert, Homage to the Man of the Sea.
