Teguise will celebrate the XII edition of the White Night 2024, with more than 40 activities that will be held in eleven different locations of the municipality. locations. The event, organized by the Department of Culture, will take place next Friday, July 26, in La Villa, from 4:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., with activities for all audiences.
Mayor Olivia Duque assures that the government group has worked to offer residents and visitors a day full of concerts, workshops, shows and exhibitions. "We want this new edition to include culture, gastronomy, commercial activities, children's proposals and a program of events aimed at all ages," the mayor highlights.
"The White Night is an event that not only attracts families from Lanzarote, but also numerous tourists who seek to enjoy a diverse and enriching cultural proposal. With activities ranging from children's workshops, sports revitalization and visits to cultural spaces, to street theater and musical performances, we have prepared a program designed for all ages and tastes," says Olivia Duque.
Likewise, the mayor thanks the participation of the entities, collaborators and municipal personnel who have made the realization of the White Night of Teguise possible, especially the Cabildo of Lanzarote and the Government of the Canary Islands.
For his part, the Councilor for Culture, Javier Díaz, points out that maps will be distributed in public spaces, shops and restaurants where the different activities and their schedules are located. In addition, the schedules of the special bus service that the Island Council will provide will be published on the website, "so that this initiative can be carried out comfortably and safely."
In addition, Javier Díaz highlights that "the White Night is a reflection of Teguise's commitment to the promotion of culture and outdoor entertainment. We have prepared a wide range of activities that range from artistic shows to youth and children's workshops, ensuring that everyone, from the youngest to the oldest, can find something to enjoy."
Programming
The White Night of Teguise will be held in various locations in La Villa such as the La Tahona stage, the La Plazuela stage, the Plaza de Los Leones stage, the Casa Museo del Timple, in La Mareta Joven, in the Plaza del Hoyo, in the Library, in the Municipal Tent, in the Municipal Theater, in the Castillo de Santa Bárbara - Guanapay and in the Centro de Arte Convento de Santo Domingo.
In this new edition, different activities will be developed with sensory vests, to involve people who have some hearing impairment. This is a new initiative that will be carried out for the first time in this event.
The event will feature performances by different musical groups, parrandas, wine tastings from the municipality, parades, fashion shows, dissemination and virtual reality activities of Latin sailing, rapid painting contests, theatrical performances, exhibitions and children's workshops, among others.
The initiative will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the Library with children's workshops for the youngest children in the municipality. On the contrary, the White Night will conclude at 2:00 a.m. with the performance of the group "Swing Latino" on the stage of the Plaza de Los Leones.
