The trial against the Lanzarote businessman Ángel Ramón Tejera, alias "Mon," has been suspended. This has been confirmed by the Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands.
The case against the contractor was to be tried on April 12 for an alleged crime against the Public Treasury. For the moment, there is no new date for this judicial process.
In this case, the Las Palmas Prosecutor's Office is asking for three years in prison for Ángel Ramón Tejera for a possible crime against the Public Treasury. According to the indictment that La Voz has had access to, the reason would be the alleged deductions as expenses of unjustified amounts.
The trial, which was to take place in the Criminal Court number one of Arrecife, has been suspended because one of the lawyers had a previous appointment in another judicial body.
In addition to imprisonment, the Prosecutor's Office requests a fine of 488,000 euros (three times the allegedly concealed amount), the loss of the right to obtain subsidies or public aid and the right to enjoy tax or Social Security benefits or incentives for four years.
Cuarteles Case
In addition, the businessman Ángel Ramón Tejera also remains under investigation in a judicial case carried out by the Investigating Courts of Madrid. It investigates the work carried out in different Civil Guard barracks around the country. The justice investigates if Tejera allegedly invoiced the works even when the works were not completed or had not even been carried out.
