The students of the First Year of Baccalaureate of the IES Las Maretas of Arrecife have amazed the teaching staff this Thursday with a vision of the experience lived on May 21 in their visit to the courts of the capital of Lanzarote. The initiative is part of the Educating in Justice program developed by the Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training, Physical Activity and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands.

In the May meeting, the students had attended with the teaching staff a day of trials for minor offenses in the Court of Instruction number 4 of Arrecife, under the presidency of Magistrate Ricardo Fiestras.

Last week they relived the experience, staging in their institute, and before their colleagues, a trial of the juvenile jurisdiction.

But, since in that representation the logistics problems had not allowed them to start the oral hearing with a full dramatization -the sending of the costumes had been delayed-, the young people did not hesitate to recreate it again this Thursday at the Teacher Center (CEP) of the Ministry in Arrecife, with the complete props, before a large representation of teachers.

The fact that classes had ended last week and they were already on vacation did not diminish the enthusiasm of the students. Their teachers were speechless at the fidelity in the characterizations and the motivation and preparation of the students.

The second year high school student from Las Maretas who got the highest grade in the PAU in Lanzarote also participated in the play, and whose grade is among the 10 best in the province.
