The Provincial Court will judge the fugitive accused of selling drugs in a cannabis club in Arrecife

The other five defendants in the case of the Oveja Verde association on Peñas del Chache street have already been convicted of crimes against public health and illicit association.

Section VI of the Provincial Court of Las Palmas will try next Wednesday in Gran Canaria one of the six defendants accused of selling hashish and marijuana in the cannabis users' association La Oveja Verde of Arrecife during the years 2017 and 2018. Jorge Javier R.T. has been summoned for next week since he could not be tried with the rest of those involved because he was fleeing from justice in Morocco.

It should be remembered that this case ended in conviction for the other five involved who received sentences of between two and three and a half years in prison and fines from 9,000 to 13,000 euros.

In the aforementioned judicial ruling, the president of the association, Jonathan Cecilio P.D.; the treasurer, Alejandro S.G.G.; and the secretary, Jean Paul C.P, admitted that they had acquired hashish and marijuana through "various suppliers" and that they sold it in the premises. The three accepted a sentence of two years in prison, compared to the seven requested by the Public Prosecutor's Office, and a fine of 13,000 euros. A fourth defendant, Jonathan C.C., also confessed, stating that he collaborated in the premises in the sale of drugs and accepted the same prison sentence as the rest of those involved.

During a police search in May 2018, Jorge Javier was surprised in the club together with the defendant Yeray Lorenzo.L.D, already sentenced to three and a half years in prison and a fine of 9,298 euros. During the intervention, a precision scale, 2,287.32 euros in cash and various quantities of narcotics were detected distributed in small doses and various containers.

In the aforementioned document, the Public Prosecutor's Office indicates that during the search the defendant Jorge Javier was carrying in the interior of a rental vehicle about three kilograms of cannabis resin (hashish), in 299 acorns and whose value could amount to 4,649.7 euros. In addition, 615 euros in cash were seized from him.

The Prosecutor's Office is asking for the defendant Jorge Javier a prison sentence of four years and six months for the commission of a crime against public health in the form of notorious importance, as well as a fine of 13,949.71 euros, with subsidiary civil liability of four months in prison in accordance with the provisions of article 53 of the Penal Code, as well as the accessory special disqualification for the right of passive suffrage during the time of the sentence.
