The Court of Instruction number 4 of Arrecife, held by Ricardo Fiestras, has rejected the appeals that intended to stop the eviction of a hundred people in Playa Blanca. This has been confirmed by the Communication Office to La Voz.
So, the launch, which was scheduled for January 3 and was postponed until the 16th, is maintained for this Tuesday.
For this, the Court relies on a municipal technical report from the Yaiza City Council, which warns that the property is at risk of collapse or demolition. Thus, according to said Office, it is understood that the ruinous state of the property is "a danger to the integrity of people" and that it is above "any other consideration, including vulnerability."
Therefore, it does not contemplate the decree that prohibits the eviction of families in vulnerable situations until December 31 of this 2024, despite the fact that nearly a hundred people live in the building, including 24 minors and 75 adults, including the elderly.
According to reports from the Communication Office, this release order also has the favorable report of the Public Prosecutor's Office. The appeals filed with Ricardo Fiestras' judicial body have been denied after obtaining reports from the Public Prosecutor's Office that supported the decision.
The eviction of these homes, located on Cyca Street in Playa Blanca, was scheduled for October last year. After that, a postponement was granted for January 3, and at the request of the Yaiza Local Police, a new date was requested. Now the judge rejects the appeals filed and maintains the date to carry out the eviction.
