The Court has ordered provisional imprisonment for crimes against public health for six of the detainees for the drug boat that arrived this Thursday in Famara and has released on charges for the same crimes but to a lesser degree, another of the immigrants, according to reports from the Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands.

The Local Police and the Civil Guard managed to intercept a total of 13 immigrants, of which seven were brought to judicial disposition. Among them was the alleged skipper of the boat who responds to the initials M.E.J, and two other men who were not on the boat but in the vehicle that was picking up the immigrants and the drugs.

It was at about 9:30 a.m. this Thursday when a citizen alerted the security and emergency services of the arrival of the boat to the Papelillo area of Famara Beach. In addition, the presence of the vehicle that was picking up the immigrants was also reported.

After that, the Civil Guard and Local Police initiated a joint operation managing to intercept 13 immigrants, one of whom had to be transferred to the Molina Orosa Hospital after suffering a broken arm. The boat was carrying 116 kilos of hashish.
