The Sixth Section of the Provincial Court of Las Palmas has sentenced a woman to five years in prison for a homicide offense in the attempt stage for stabbing her boyfriend in the home they shared in Costa Teguise.

The woman has accepted five years in prison after reaching an agreement between her defense and the lawyer of her ex-partner and confessing the facts. She has acknowledged that she wounded him with a knife in the right side, an assault that forced him to undergo emergency surgery.

The events took place on November 10, 2024, when both were in a home in Costa Teguise. The convicted woman approached her boyfriend and wounded him with a bladed weapon, causing a wound in his chest, putting his life at risk. As a result of this assault, the victim required 53 days of healing.

The Provincial Court has applied an aggravating factor of kinship, while it has taken into account a mitigating factor, that of being under the influence of drugs, which "slightly" modified her intellectual and volitional capacity.

The convicted woman will also have to compensate her ex-boyfriend with 3,490 euros for the time it took to heal the wounds and 1,944 euros for the after-effects. She has been in provisional detention since 2024 for this case.
