Faces six years in prison for robbing a bar in San Bartolomé

The accused had already been convicted up to four times before for the crimes of robbery with force

The First Section of the Provincial Court of Las Palmas will judge this Tuesday, May 27 in Lanzarote an accused of a crime of robbery with force in a bar in San Bartolomé.

The accusation document of the Public Prosecutor's Office states that on May 19, 2022, at 01:50 in the morning, E.M.E.R. allegedly forced the metal shutter of the access door of the Café Bar La Bolera in the town of San Bartolomé. To do this, according to the Public Ministry, he took it out of its lane and leveraged the entrance door of the premises.

Once inside, he allegedly stole the cash register, with approximately 500 euros in cash and damaged the computer screen of the premises.

The Prosecutor's Office classifies these acts as a crime of robbery with force in an establishment open to the public, outside of opening hours, and asks for the accused six years in prison, with accessory of special disqualification for the duration of the sentence.

In addition, the aggravating circumstance of multiple recidivism is incurred, since he is convicted of up to four crimes of robbery with force.

Finally, he asks to compensate the owner of the premises with the 500 euros allegedly stolen from the cash register, for the cash register itself and the damage caused to the premises.
