The Prosecutor's Office is requesting five years in prison and a fine of 3,649 euros for a man who was arrested at Lanzarote airport with 71.15 grams of cocaine and who will be tried in Gran Canaria, by the Sixth Section of the Provincial Court, next Tuesday.
According to the indictment, the events took place on October 3, 2016, when at approximately 7:25 p.m., after landing at the airport on a flight from Madrid, the defendant "was seized 71.15 grams of cocaine with a purity of 47.98%", which "he was carrying in his luggage for subsequent sale and distribution". The seized substance, it adds, "reaches in the current illicit market the value of 1,216.35 euros".
The Public Prosecutor's Office considers that the events constitute a crime against public health, in the form of substances that cause serious damage to health, and therefore requests for the accused a sentence of five years in prison and a fine of 3,649 euros.
