The Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote and La Graciosa organizes a novel free and face-to-face veterinary clinic assistant course. It is aimed at unemployed young people, from 16 to 29 years old, registered in the Youth Guarantee. If they are not, the procedure can be done at the Chamber of Commerce itself.

The course consists of 120 hours of theoretical and practical training and begins in September. With this training, attendees will be able to work as veterinary clinical assistants and work in clinics, consultations, specialized stores or animal day care centers.

This action is part of the Qualification and Employment Program (PICE), aimed at young people, and has the support of the Employment Area of the Cabildo of Lanzarote and the European Social Fund.

The training, combined with practice, provides a real vision of the professional future to which young people can dedicate themselves and is an impulse for those who fail to see professional opportunities.

The objective of this course is to train students to perform their functions related to customer service, microbiology and parasitology, an introduction to veterinary medicine, special attention to the care and management of patients and an approach to the clinic with practical cases.

The PICE Program promotes employment through vocational guidance and training focused on specific professions with common skills such as languages, digital skills or social skills, so necessary to address job interviews and to adapt to the workplace.

It is a free training of the Comprehensive Qualification and Employment Program (PICE) of the Chamber of Commerce of Spain that is part of the National Youth Guarantee System of the Ministry of Labor, Migration and Social Security and is co-financed by the European Social Fund and the Employment Area of the Cabildo de Lanzarote.
