Discover the new vocational training centers of excellence specializing in transport, big data, or AI

Nine new centers of excellence in Vocational Training have opened, adding to the 66 that have been created since 2022

The **construction** and energy **sustainability**, **transport**, **aeronautics**, and **big data** and artificial intelligence (AI) sectors are **leaders in the new centers** of excellence for Vocational Training that are joining the National Network, bringing the total number of centers to 75 since its creation in 2022.

The Ministry of Education, Vocational Training, and Sports has published the resolution granting **7.3 million euros for the creation of nine new centers of excellence.**

To these grants are added **another 27 million** that will be distributed among the 66 existing centers of excellence in the network for their **maintenance**.

The two calls for **grants** approved in 2025 amount to 34.4 million euros, and since 2022, the ministry led by Pilar Alegría has financed these centers with a total of 111.8 million.

The Network of Vocational Training Centers of Excellence are leading centers where **innovation projects** are developed in collaboration with other centers and companies, and they serve as a reference for training both professionals from different productive sectors and teaching staff. They have representation from 18 strategic sectors.

One of the new centers that have been awarded as centers of excellence and their professional families is located in Canary Islands (CIFP Cruz de Piedra in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Transport and Logistics). It joins the other four existing centers in the archipelago: IES El Rincón and CIFP San Cristóbal, both in Gran Canaria, and CIFP Los Gladiolos and César Manrique, in Tenerife.

In the rest of the country, they are inaugurated in Catalonia (Institut Illa dels Banyols; Aeronautical), Aragon (CPIFP Los Enlaces; Audiovisual), Galicia (CIFP Universidade Laboral; Maritime Fishing), Castile and León (CIFP Pico Frentes; Construction and Energy Sustainability) and the Basque Country (CIFP Construcción LHII; Construction and Energy Sustainability).

Also in Valencia (IES Dr Lluis Simarro; AI and Big Data), Murcia (CIFP Carlos III; AI and Big Data) and Andalusia (IES El Tablero; Transport and Logistics).
