The Ministry of Universities, Science, Innovation and Culture of the Government of the Canary Islands has announced travel grants for students residing in the islands who have completed higher university studies for a bachelor's or master's degree in Canarian public centers or in the rest of Spain during the 2022/2023 academic year.
The objective of these grants, whose budget amounts to 590,655 euros, is to partially cover the air or sea travel that students undertook to pursue their university studies on an island different from their island of residence or in the rest of the Spanish territory, due to the lack of academic offer or for not having obtained a place in public centers on their island during the past academic year.
Only trips made for this purpose will be covered, in the period between August 1, 2022 and July 31, 2023. Tickets could have been purchased prior to these periods, provided that the journeys took place between the aforementioned dates.
Applicants must have been enrolled in face-to-face or blended learning courses, in a minimum of 45 credits, except for those who were in final courses, for whom it would be enough to have been enrolled in the credits they had left to finish their studies.
The Official Gazette of the Canary Islands (BOC) published on Thursday, August 24, the order that includes the bases and requirements for beneficiaries, who will have one month (from August 25 to September 23, 2023) from the day following the publication to submit their application, which will only be in digital format, completing an application form.
