Tourist occupancy rose in the month of April in Lanzarote to reach 77.2%, thus confirming the sector's forecasts that estimated a percentage of around 80% in the Easter period, according to the Tourist Accommodation Survey of the ISTAC, collected by the Lanzarote Data Center.

Specifically, the occupancy of the fourth month of the year improves its data by 4 points compared to March (73.4%) and reaffirms the upward trend of tourism recovery on the island, which is not only exceeding pre-pandemic figures, but is also breaking records in some areas.

In addition, in year-on-year terms, the month of April experienced an increase of 61.4% compared to the same period in 2021, when there was only an occupancy of 15.8%, due to the restrictions imposed by the coronavirus pandemic.

On the other hand, if the occupancy per room or apartment is taken into account, this increases to 79.6%, compared to 19.1% in 2021, that is, 60.5% more than the previous year. However, the figure drops if compared to the peak in March, which marked an occupancy of 86.1%.

It should be noted that the number of tourist places offered also increased, with 61,070 in April, 189.5% more year-on-year (21,093 in 2021) and 0.6% more than the previous month (60,486 places in March).
