The Government of the Canary Islands finances with 1.1 million part of the renovation of a hotel in Costa Teguise. The Teguise City Council has reported this Friday that the Canarian Executive will subsidize part of the investment that the company Urbanizadora Hispano Belga SL is making in the tourist town to expand and renovate the commercial area of the Oasis Lanz hotel.
The mayor of Teguise, Olivia Duque, and the Councilor for Tourism, Rita Hernández, have celebrated this news and have pointed out the “good health” enjoyed by the tourist area of the municipality. All this, in the midst of the controversy that has aroused in the population the launch of a survey citizen to find out what are the changes and improvements they propose in Costa Teguise and after the continuous citizen complaints that point out the poor condition of the avenues, the lack of cleaning and maintenance of the gardens and the lighting problems.
The Oasis Lanz hotel, which belongs to the Beach Mate Resorts Group of Tenerife, covers 9,162 square meters and is located on Avenida del Jablillo in Costa Teguise. In total, 14 million euros will be invested in "cleaning, renovation and expansion work." Among them, the installation of 15 commercial brand stores, a gourmet restaurant, a chill out area and a spa are contemplated.
The consistory has celebrated "the synergy of different administrations" and the owners of this hotel plant. “Good work between institutions is notorious when it affects in a positive way, raises the quality of the town and makes it a national benchmark”, the consistory has stated in a press release.
“In recent years, Oasis Lanz has opened its facilities to the citizens of Teguise and Graciosa to enjoy its gastronomic, social and cultural variety. This initiative will undoubtedly further enhance the tourism sector of Costa Teguise”, stressed the first mayor.
The Teguise consistory defends that "this reform contributes to the improvement of sustainability and wellness tourism through the use of renewable energies." In addition, it states that the initiative contemplates "the installation of LED lights in all bedrooms and double-flush cisterns or double glazing."
