The gardens of Costa Teguise have been pointed out on different occasions for the lack of maintenance and dirt. In addition, there is the lack of civic-mindedness of some citizens and visitors who, instead of using bins and garbage cans, prefer to throw their waste in public spaces.
On this occasion, a reader has pointed out the garbage that accumulates on different main avenues of the coastal town. Plastic bags, hundreds of cigarette butts, ice cream and chocolate wrappers, cardboard boxes, tube glasses, cans, pallets or plastic bottles are some of the waste that this citizen has encountered during a walk through the tourist town.
Some of the town's roads, such as Avenida del Jablillo, Calle Los Geranios or Avenida del Mar, see how garbage and waste accumulate in their gardens. "This street is full of garbage all along," he says.
