The Teguise City Council, through the Department of Tourism and Beaches and with funding from the Government of Canarias, has completed the installation and renovation of the new signage, information panels and signaling masts of the municipal coastline, an action integrated within the plan for the improvement and modernization of the municipality's coastal areas.

The action has been carried out on the beaches and coastal areas of Teguise and La Graciosa, incorporating new, more modern, accessible and adapted information elements to the needs of both residents and visitors. The new supports include updated information on usage regulations, safety recommendations, water quality, environmental data, available services and specific characteristics of each coastal area.

Likewise, new masts have been installed for the signaling and communication of the state of the beaches, a fundamental element to guarantee compliance with current regulations and to convey clear and visible information about bathing and safety conditions. This infrastructure improves communication with users and constitutes an essential resource within the coastal information and prevention system.

The mayor of Teguise, Olivia Duque, highlighted that “we continue to advance in the improvement of our coastline by incorporating tools that enhance information, safety and accessibility for residents and visitors, offering spaces that are more prepared and adapted to current needs.”

Duque added that “these actions respond to technical and regulatory criteria that allow for better service provision and ensure that people have clear and accessible information on our beaches.”

For her part, the Councilor for Tourism and Beaches, Rita Hernández, pointed out that “the renovation of these elements was a priority action because information and signage on beaches play an essential role both in terms of safety and in the experience of those who enjoy our coastline.”

Likewise, Hernández explained that some points incorporate innovative systems and updated tools that will allow offering information of interest about the state of the sea, environmental conditions and other parameters linked to safety and responsible use of the coast.

The renovation is part of the Coastal Improvement Plan driven through external financing obtained thanks to the coordination between the Teguise City Council, the Cabildo de Lanzarote and the Government of the Canary Islands.

This action adds to other measures already developed within the municipal roadmap to continue improving the coastline, among them the renovation of public restrooms, coastal protection actions, improvements in trails and future interventions in spaces and seafront promenades.
